On the afternoon of April 10, 2019(Zambian local time), President of Zambia Edgar Lungu came to the company-funded enterprise CNMC Luanshya Copper Mining PlC (CLM) for field inspection. He also met with Wang Chunlai, Vice President of the Company and Chairman of the Board of Directors of CLM and the management of the Company.
In order to implement the spirit of CNMC on strengthening the management of production safety, CLM carried out in-depth production safety inspection in the Company, and improved the safety management of the Company constantly through strict implementation of rectification.
If one is diligent, spring would come earlier. Triumphant news about production in the first quarter was released by CLM. With only 28 working days in February, which coincided with the Chinese traditional New Year, CLM overcame many difficulties in production organization such as strip mine, stock yard in rainy seasons; CNMC Luanshya Muliashi Copper Hydrometallurgical Plant, Baluba Copper Mine and slag benefication exceeded their designated capacity, with the cumulative amount of copper metal completed of 14,381.73, which increased by 26.31% year on year and reached a new record high.
On March 12, 2019, Wang Tongzhou, Chairman of the Board of Directors, President and General Manager of CNMC met Stephanie Cormier, Chairman Advisor of National Mining Company of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Ngoy A Bussard, Head of Strategic Planning and their delegation at CNMC Building, and both parties made in-depth exchange and reached broad consensus on further reinforcement and deepening of broad and pragmatic cooperation.
