On September 7, Times of Zambia, Zambia's most influential media, issued a special issue "Zambia-China Forum: A Long-term and Tested Friendship", telling the story of NFCA, praising China-Zambia friendship and the opening of the 2020 China International Fair for Trade in Services in Beijing.

As the first Chinese mining enterprise in Africa, since its establishment in 1998, NFC Africa Mining PLC (Hereinafter referred to as "NFCA") has always taken "China-Zambia cooperation and common development" as its core concept, "loyalty and responsibility" as its core values, and building a "safe, green, intelligent and efficient "modern mine as its development goal, cutting through all obstacles and forging ahead. For more than 20 years, NFCA has devoted itself to promoting the process of "localization" and has made every effort to support Zambia's economic and social development. Every step of the footprint confirms the continuous enhancement of "China-Zambia friendship" and NFCA has been praised by Zambian President Lungu as "a model of China-Zambia friendly cooperation". Especially since the outbreak of the Covid-19, NFCA has coordinated epidemic prevention and control and production and operation, and maintained growth in production against the trend. The "New Model of Intelligent Control for Metal Mines Based on Big Data" was selected into the pilot demonstration project of industrial development of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The epidemic prevention and control measures by NFCA were praised by the local government as an example for Zambian enterprises. NFCA actively donated money and materials, fully participated in and supported the local epidemic prevention and control, and established and maintained a good image as a responsible enterprise.

In order to celebrate the opening of the 2020 China International Fair for Trade in Services and further promote the friendly cooperation between China and Zambia, Times of Zambia has chosen NFCA as the target of the special issue of "Zambia-China Forum: A Long-term and Tested Friendship". It focused on the highlights of NFCA in social responsibility, employment, taxation and other aspects.

NFCA has always adhered to legal and compliant operation and actively assumed social responsibilities. From 2018 to 2020, NFCA donated 610,000 US dollars to social welfare undertakings such as education, medical care and transportation, striving to better serve Zambia's economic, social and cultural progress. Among them, the scope of donations covered infrastructure construction such as schools, hospitals, police stations and communities, as well as urgently needed materials for epidemic prevention and control. Since its establishment, NFCA has adhered to the principle of giving priority to the employment of local employees in all positions to promote local employment. No matter how difficult the production and operation situation is, NFCA have always adhered to the promise of "not stopping production, not reducing staff and not reducing salaries". It has always been committed to the construction, training and development of the local workforce, continuously improving the welfare and salary of the workforce. At present, there are more than 5,300 Zambian employees in NFCA. In 2016, NFCA recruited and formed a team of equipment trainers composed of 12 people from China and Zambia. Using the training mode of "theoretical study + scene simulation + actual exercise", NFCA successively carried out training in Central South University of China, SANDVIK Factory in Finland and Zambia Training Base. NFCA has independently designed and built a trackless equipment surface training base and an underground training base in the-400m middle section of the west ore body, gradually transferring the operation skills to ordinary employees, and forming a high-quality Zambian operator team through continuous "incubation".
By 2019, NFCA has paid more than 170 million US dollars in various taxes to the Zambian government, making its due contribution to Zambia's economic and social development.

At the same time, NFCA is committed to building Zambia's first "digital benchmark" mine, which has driven the promotion and application of large-scale, automatic and intelligent mining machinery and advanced mining and beneficiation systems in Zambia, bringing Zambia's mining production to the world's advanced level.

NFCA will always be committed to contributing to the construction of a closer China-Africa community of destiny, fully fulfilling its economic and social responsibilities, striving to promote joint development, mutual benefit and win-win results, and effectively passing on and carrying forward the long-standing traditional friendship between China and Zambia.
