“NFC Africa Mining Sets A Role Model for Zambian Enterprises”- Five Zambian Ministerial Officials Investigate the Epidemic Prevention and Control of NFC Africa Mining

On May 21, Zambian time, entrusted by President Lungu, five Zambian ministerial officials teamed up to investigate the epidemic prevention and control of NFC Africa Mining PLC (hereinafter referred to as “NFC Africa Mining”), a CNMC funded company in Zambia. After the investigation trip, Zambian Finance Minister Bwalya Ng’andu said in an interview with a reporter from the Zambian National Television, “NFC Africa Mining sets a role model for Zambian enterprises!” On behalf of the government investigation team, he urged Zambian enterprises to learn from the ideas and measures of NFC Africa Mining, to jointly promote the epidemic prevention and control in the society, and to ensure economic and social stability in Zambia.

On April 30, Richard Musukwa, the Zambian Minister of Mines and Mineral Development, inspected NFC Africa Mining in an unannounced visit and spoke highly of the construction of the “Ark Community” and digital mine by the company. While strongly promoting the “Ark Community” to the society through the media, Minister Richard Musukwa made a detailed report to President Lungu. President Lungu then sent an investigation delegation of more than 40 members to learn about the epidemic prevention and control of NFC Africa Mining. The delegation was led by Bwalya Ng’andu, the Minister of Finance, and consisted of Joyce Nonde Simukoko, the Minister of Labour and Social Security, Kampamba Mulenga Chewe, the Minister of Community Development, Richard Musukwa, the Minister of Mines and Mineral Development, Governor Japhen Mwakalombe of Copperbelt Province, and other officials concerned. The delegation learned more details about the working ideas and measure of NFC Africa Mining in building the “Ark Community”, guaranteeing production and increasing efficiency. They visited the dormitory, canteen, and field infirmary in the “Ark Community”, talked with resident employees, and required the trade union and employees to support correct decisions made by the company. The delegation also learned the progress of NFC Africa Mining in digital mine construction in detail.

The “Ark Community” was not only a strong fortress for epidemic prevention and control, but also a firm support for production and operation. Hu Guobin, Vice President of CNMC and General Manager of NFC Africa Mining, gave a detailed report to the delegation about the ideas and measures for the company to prevent and control and epidemic, guarantee production and increase efficiency, as well as its progress and difficulties in the process. He said that NFC Africa Mining would resolutely meet the requirement of Wang Tongzhou, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CNMC and Chairman of the Holding Group for “imposing strict defense, management and control and allowing no infection and no imported case on the production site steadfastly and at all costs”. He also pledged that the company would be firmly committed to its corporate social responsibility amid the epidemic, go all out to prevent and control the epidemic, strive to guarantee production and increase efficiency, sustain the family life of 5,850 employees, pays taxes as usual, make every effort to donate materials for epidemic prevention and control to government departments and social organizations, and stick with the local people to ensure social stability.

In the Production Control Center of the Southeastern Ore body, Minister Richard Musukwa “turned from a guest into a host ” and volunteered to be a “guide” for the digitized mine. Familiar with the topic, he told the Finance Minister and other delegation members about the merits of the concept and system that NFC Africa Mining applied to the construction of digital mine and the enormous changes to the mining industry in Zambia after that large-scale, automated, and intelligent equipment would be put into use.
