Vice President Zhang Jinjun Went to CLM for Investigation

On Zambian local time of January 2 to 4, 2020, Vice President of the Board of Directors Zhang Jinjun and his delegation went to CLM, a funded company, for investigation.

Vice President Zhang Jinjun and his delegation investigated Baruba Underground Mine, the workshops of East Baruba Open Pit Mine, North Muliashi, South Open Pit Mine, Roan Extension Open Pit Mine, Muliashi Wet Smelting Plant as well as dressing plant and other production sites. He understood the production and operation, technical indicators and others of the production sectors of CLM in details.

On the research symposium, Wang Chunlai, Director of the Company and Chairman of CLM reported relevant situations of CLM from the aspects like production and operations in 2019, governance of Company, production research and development, system construction, resource guarantee, future objectives as well as main work in 2020, difficulties and challenges, opinions and suggestions, etc.

During the investigation, Vice President Zhang Jinjun expressed his gratitude for the outstanding contributions made by the cadres and employees of CLM in the past year for their hard work and long-term high-quality development of the Company, and affirmed the achievements made by CLM in its reform and development over the years, especially in 2019 when they faced the difficulties, they took the initiative to cope with the pressure and market fluctuations actively, so that the copper output reached its highest level in 10 years and achieved a historic leap forward.

Meanwhile, he proposed requirements for the work of next step: first, to highlight the main businesses, and make the resources stronger; strengthen the efforts in ore prospecting constantly, improve the reserves of copper resources to ensure the orderly replacement of the production in the mine; second, to improve the governance structure of the Corporate, strengthen the compliance operations, strengthen the internal control and management, and prevent and control the business risks; third, to strengthen the awareness of collaborative development, strengthen the communications with the international business departments, overseas laboratories and offices of the Group Company to achieve the collaborative development; fourth, to take the initiative to change, seek progress at a high level, strengthen the improvement of standards, learn advanced management concepts, find the direction of improvement, strengthen technological innovation and breakthrough, and improve the competitiveness of enterprises. The investigation panel also had an in-depth discussion and exchange with the management level of CLM on special issues, such as the business environment in Africa and development ideas, etc.

The heads from relevant departments of CNMC also participated in the investigation.
