President of Zambia Excellency Mr Edgar Lungu Shook Hands Warmly with Chairman of CLM Wang Chunlai
 
On the afternoon of April 10, 2019(Zambian local time), President of Zambia Edgar Lungu came to the company-funded enterprise CNMC Luanshya Copper Mining PlC (CLM) for field inspection. He also met with Wang Chunlai, Vice President of the Company and Chairman of the Board of Directors of CLM and the management of the Company. 

President Edgar Lungu paid close attention to the work of CLM, and investigation was designated to understand the current production and operation of CLM.

Wang Chunlai, Chairman of CLM reported the development, current production and operation, environmental protection and social responsibilities and future development plans of the Company in recent years. According to Chairman Wang Chunlai, CML has increased its development efforts in recent years, and its copper output has been more than doubled compared with that before it was taken over. The copper output of CLM was just over 20,000 tons for a long time before 2009, but it is expected to reach 56,000 ton in 2019, and the tax paid will exceed USD 50 million, creating more than 3,000 jobs to Luanshya region. Currently, the Company is increasing their efforts in mining development, and starting to explore the ore at the deep side of Northern Mu , and plans to develop Maxiba ore deposit and upper ore-body of shaft No. 28, etc. this year. The implementation of these new projects will further increase the copper production of CLM and its contribution to the Zambian Government, which will boost the local employment significantly. After hearing the report made by Chairman Wang Chunlai, President Edgar Lungu affirmed the development of CLM and its contribution to local employment, and expressed to support the increased investment of CLM.

Davies Mwila, Secretary General of Zambia's Ruling Party PF and Richard Musukwa, Minister of Mining Department as well as the management of CLM attended the meeting.
