On September 11, 2018, Wang Tongzhou, Chairman of the Board of Directors of China Nonferrous Metal Mining (Group) Co., Ltd. (CNMC) met with Wang Tongqing, Chinese Ambassador to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, at the CNMC Building.

Chairman Wang Tongzhou extended a warm welcome to Ambassador Wang Tongqing's visit, and expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Chinese Embassy in the Democratic Republic of the Congo for the care and support for CNMC. He briefed Ambassador Wang Tongqing on the reform and development of CNMC, especially in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, as well as its participation in the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation and the China-Zambia Business Forum held at the headquarters of CNMC. Chairman Wa Tongzhou said that the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, which just concluded, clearly defines the "eight major actions" to be implemented in the next three years and for some time to come based on the promotion of China-Africa's "Ten Major Cooperation Plans", provides guidelines and strengthens the confidence and determination of CNMC for its development in Democratic Republic of the Congo (DPC). CNMC will work hard to implement the spirit of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, and thoroughly implement the new policies, new ideas, new actions and new measures put forward by Chairman Jin Ping, further strengthen confidence and continue to do a good job in business development. Chairman Wang Tongzhou said that CNMC and its DRC Company will actively respond to and assist the embassy's work, fully fulfill their social responsibilities, and make new contributions to consolidating and developing China-DRC friendship.

Ambassador Wang Tongqing spoke highly of the achievements of CNMC and its DRC Company, and fully affirmed the positive actions by CNMC in fulfilling its social responsibilities. He said that enterprises are important practitioners of China-Africa cooperation. The Chinese Embassy in the Democratic Republic of the Congo will continue to support Chinese enterprises including CNMC in their development, promote deep and extensive cooperation between the two sides, and achieve win-win cooperation and common development. He hoped that CNMC will continue to follow the requirements of President Xi Jinping's "true and sincere" cooperation, adhere to the correct concept of justice and benefit, actively respond to the "Belt and Road" initiative, further deepen the pragmatic cooperation between China and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and contribute more to building a closer community of destiny for China and Africa.
