On September 1, 2018, Chairman Wang Tongzhou met with Léonard She Okitundu, First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs and Region Integration Minister of Democratic Republic of the Congo and his group at CNMC Building in Beijing, and both Parties made deep communication and achieved broad consensus on mutually concerned topics.
    
Chairman Wang Tongzhou expressed warm welcome to the visit of Deputy Prime Minister Okitundu and his group, and also expressed his heartfelt thanks to the support to CNMC by Deputy Prime Minister Okitundu and Democratic Republic of the Congo Government for a long time. He said that in recent years China and Democratic Republic of the Congo are becoming closer in communication with plentiful achievements, and the friendship between our two countries are also increasing day by day. As one of the first Chinese enterprises entering into Democratic Republic of the Congo, CNMC has been constantly exploring new cooperation mode under the great support of Democratic Republic of the Congo, actively participating in the economic and social construction of Democratic Republic of the Congo, realized mutual benefit and win-win result and also won the understanding and trust by people of Democratic Republic of the Congo. Chairman Wang Tongzhou said that 2018 Beijing summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) is coming. CNMC will insist in the principle of co-negotiation, co-construction and sharing strictly according to the spirit of President Xi Jinping of Building Closer China-Africa Community of Common Future, unswervingly developing business in Democratic Republic of the Congo, assisting the industrialization process of Democratic Republic of the Congo. 

Deputy Prime Minister Okitundu expressed his thanks to the warm reception of Chairman Wang Tongzhou. He said that the coming 2018 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) is of great importance to the political, economic and social development of Democratic Republic of the Congo. Democratic Republic of the Congo always attaches great importance to the relationship between China and Democratic Republic of the Congo, and this Summit will surely promote to realize greater breakthrough in economic cooperation and political association between the two countries. He said that the relationship between two countries can not be separated with support of enterprises, Democratic Republic of the Congo will as always support Chinese enterprises, including CNMC, to invest in Democratic Republic of the Congo, developing deeper and practical cooperation in wider fields, realizing cooperation and mutual benefits as well as joint development.

Relevant government senior officer of Democratic Republic of the Congo, Chairman of Democratic Republic of the Congo National Mining Company, relevant leaders of CNMC, principals of relevant departments and investing enterprises attended the meeting.
