On August 29, 2018, Wang Tongzhou, chairman, Party secretary and general manager of CNMC, met with ministerial delegation of Zambia in CNMC Building, and both Parties made deep communication and achieved broad consensus on mutually concerned topics. 

    
During the meeting, Chairman Wang Tongzhou extended a warm welcome to the visiting of ministerial delegation and expressed heartfelt thanks to the help and support to CNMC by Zambia Government and each ministers for a long time, and also introduced the preparation condition of coming China-Zambia Business Forum. He said, based on the profound friendship between China and Zambia, CNMC invests and develops in Zambia, forming industrial group integrating mining, beneficiation and metallurgy, and it is now the biggest Chinese enterprise in Zambia, CNMC actively performs social responsibilities, really achieving mutual benefit and win-win result, as well as joint development. Chairman Wang Tongzhou said that he was honored to accompany President Lungu to jointly present the Launch Ceremony of Chambishi Copper Mine during his research in Zambia recently, practically understood the investment environment of Zambia and the operation condition of enterprises invested in Zambia, which gave him more confidence and determination to invest in Zambia. CNMC newly start from 2018 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) and this Business Forum, strictly follow the instruction spirit of President Xi Jinping, unswervingly expand and deepen the investment and cooperation in Zambia under the support of both Zambia and Chinese Government, actively drive more Chinese enterprises to Zambia for investment, making new contribution to speeding up the industrialization process as well as economic and social development of Zambia. 

Christopher Yaluma, minister of Zambia Commerce Ministry, expressed his thanks to warm reception by Chairman Wang Tongzhou. He said that the investment and development of CNMC in Zambia brought huge contribution to local economic development the improvement of peoples’ living standard. For the past 20 years, CNMC has been actively participating in the economic and social construction of Zambia, providing Zambia with a mass of employment positions and tax when realizing its own development, bringing Zambia people with practical welfare in education, medical treatment and infrastructure construction, which explained All-weather Friendship between China and Zambia with practical actions, and it is the model of friendly cooperation between China and Zambia. Minister Yaluma said that Zambia Government will practically keep the stability of policy and fully support the development of CNMC and other Chinese enterprises in Zambia. He also hopes that CNMC may continue increasing the investment in Zambia and drive more Chinese enterprises to develop in Zambia, developing practical cooperation in wider field and making greater contribution to the realization of industrialization goal of Zambia.

Accompanied by Ronald Chitotela, minister of Zambia Housing and Infrastructure Development Department, Alexander Chiteme, minister of Zambia National Planning Department, Winnie Chibesakunda, Ambassador of Zambia to China, Fredson Yamba, chancellor of the exchequer of Zambia, Ronald Sinwenga, Permanent secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Emmanuel Pam, Permanent secretary of the Ministry of Finance as well as Jacob Mkandaval, Director of the Finance Department, meanwhile, relevant leaders of Holding Group and the Company as well as principals of relevant departments attended the meeting.
