Chairman of CNMC Wang Tongzhou Visited Chinese Ambassador in Zambia Li Jie

Wang Tongzhou, Chairman, Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of CNMC and his delegation visited Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Zambia, and held talks with Li Jie, Chinese Ambassador in Zambia on Zambian local time of August 20, 2018.

First of all, Ambassador Li Jie expressed his warm welcome for the visit of Chairman Wang Tongzhou and his delegation. Ambassador Li Jie spoke highly of the achievements that CNMC and Zambia-sponsored enterprises have obtained, and fully affirmed the active role that CNMC's enterprises in Zambia have played in fulfilling its political, economic, and social responsibilities. Ambassador Li Jie pointed out that, CNMC has made use of the two markets at home and abroad by making overall planning, implemented the strategy of "Going Abroad", and participated in the construction of the "Belt and Road" Initiative actively over the past 20 years, and CNMC was an outstanding representative of China's nonferrous metal industry in international operations. CNMC fulfilled its social responsibilities actively in Zambia, won trust and recognition from local government and people, and was a steadfast practitioner for all-weather friendship between China and Zambia.

Chairman Wang Tongzhou introduced the reform and development of CNMC to Ambassador Li Jie, and expressed his heartfelt thanks for the care and support that Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Zambia has offered to the enterprises of CNMC in Zambia. He said that, Ambassador Li Jie had made a field visit to the enterprise of CNMC in Zambia when taking his new office, which embodied the great concern and support that the embassy has paid to the enterprises of CNMC in Zambia. CNMC would further deepen the pragmatic cooperation with all related parties in Zambia, and focus on the production, operation, reform and development. The enterprises in Zambia would respond positively and cooperate fully with the work of the embassy, fulfill their social responsibilities, and make new and greater contributions to the constant development of China-Zambia friendship in depth and breadth.

Lai Bo, Political Counselor, Ouyang Daobing, Economic Counselor of Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Zambia, Zhang Youxian, Deputy President of Bank of China Zambia Branch, Tao Xinghu, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Wang Xiaowei, General Manager Assistant of CNMC and other responsible personnel from relevant departments of CNMC and associated sponsored enterprises took part in the talks.
