On July 1, 2018, good news arrived at Baluba Copper Mine, Luanshya Branch of China Nonferrous Metal Industry's Foreign Engineering and Construction Co., Ltd. After 163 days of mine production system recovery and arduous problem solving, the first bucket of ore was lifted out of Baluba Copper Mine, which marked that Baluba Copper Mine, Luanshya Branch of China Nonferrous Metal Industry's Foreign Engineering and Construction Co., Ltd. was formally put back on production.

As a result of insufficient power supply and depressed copper price, Baluba Copper Mine was placed in shutdown and maintenance status in September 2015. In view of power supply improvement market improvement, the Company decided to resume the production of Baluba Copper Mine at the beginning of 2018, so as to give full play to resource value, and promote the economic development of local society.

Through overcoming the difficulties such as long downtime and heavy workload for system recovery, and by virtue of planning ahead of time and careful layout, Luanshya Branch of China Nonferrous Metal Industry's Foreign Engineering and Construction Co., Ltd. started the construction on February 8, 2018. After 107 days of painstaking efforts, the horizontal roadway driving for initial mining was formally implemented on May 6 as the successful development of roadway driving trolley testing for initial mining quarry Boomer in 585 m segment. Finally, formal ore drawing was smoothly realized as planned on July 1 with the accomplishment of 915 t ore lifting capacity. According to the design, the copper content of copper concentrate annually produced by Baluba Copper Mine is 10,000 t after production recovery.
