In order to enhance the professional skills and the overall quality of the employees holding the grass-roots position, speed up the construction of employee team, select the outstanding technicians, CNMC Luanshya Copper Mining PlC (hereinafter referred to as CLM), which is an enterprise affiliated to our Company in Zambia, initiated the vocational skills competition in the affiliated training school.
This vocational skills competition was carried out by four special types of work, including electrical engineering, instrumentation, bench workers and welders, and it includes two parts: theory and practice. The total score of the theoretical knowledge examination and the actual operation assessment is 100 points respectively, among which the score of the theoretical knowledge examination accounts for 40 % of the assessment results, that of the actual operation assessment accounts for 50% of the same, while that of the safety assessment accounts for another 10%. The entire course of the competition was approximately 25 days.
The management at different levels of CLM attached great importance to this vocational skills competition. The vocational skills competition could raise the atmosphere of skill competition, motivate the employees to enhance their career quality and professional skills and, at the same time, also have a positive role in improving the labor productivity and reducing the risks in working safety of the enterprise. Wang Jingjun, the Deputy General Manager of CLM attended the opening ceremony of the competition.
