Mr. Zhang Keli, General Manager of the Holding Group of CNMCL Called on Zambian Minister of Finance, Chikwanda

On 20 March, 2016, Zhang Keli, general manager and secretary of party committee of the holding group of CNMCL as well as his delegation were accompanied by Tao Xinghu, president and chairman of the board directors to call on Zambian minister of Finance, Mr. Chikwanda while they were making a survey about the companies they funded in Zambia. Two sides held an in-depth discussion in the fields of mining investment, tax policy and related matters in Zambia.

Mr. Zhang Keli first of all thanked Zambian government for its continuous strong support and assistance with the companies that China Nonferrous Metal Group and China Nonferrous Metal Mining Group funded in Zambia. And many thanks especial went for minister Chikwanda for his personal efforts in coordinating and solving the problems that CNMCL faced in Zambia. He noted that although facing with many difficulties like the global economy kept descending, nonferrous metals price fell sharply, and the continued tension with Zambian electricity supply, CNMC and CNMCL would increase the investment in Zambia, maintain the stability of production and employees, actively fulfill social responsibilities and make new contribution for Zambian social and economic development. It was hoped that Zambian government could carry out favorable mining tax and investment policies, and maintain policy consistency, going through the difficulties with enterprises.

Minister Chikwanda expressed his gratitude, spoke highly of the investment, employment, active participation in social activities that CNMC and CNMCL made. To strengthen support towards CNMC and CNMCL was his own responsibility and Zambian government’s, which benefited the improvement of Zambian people’s livelihood and economic and social development. He hoped that CNMC and CNMCL could increase investment in Zambia to realize mutual benefit.

Zan Baosen, general manager of China Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone Development Co., Ltd in Zambia, as well as related staff of CNMCL headquarter were also involved.
