On local time November 2nd, led by H.E. Zambian President Edgar C. Lungu, a delegation of Mrs. Joyce Musenge, Governor of Copperbelt Province; Mr. Christopher Yaluma, Director General of Mining Ministry; Mr. Fackson Shamenda, Minister of Labor Department; and Mr. Kambwili, Minister of Information Department, paid a research visit to NFCA, a company invested by our side in Zambia. Also present at the meeting were Chinese Ambassador to Zambia Mr. Yang Youming, President and Chairman of the Board, Tao Xinghu, Vice President of the company, General Manager of NFCA, Mr. Wang Chunlai, as well as NFCA senior management staff.
Mr. Wang Chunlai, Vice President of the company and General Manager of NFCA first reported to H.E. President Lungu and his delegation in the field of NFCA production and operation conditions and problems cropped up in opening of southeast mines; meanwhile, as explained by him, NFCA will continue to overcome difficulties and create more employment opportunities to undertake the social responsibilities of enterprises.
President Lungu listened closely to Vice President Wang Chunlai’s report and emphasized that the purpose of his visit is to learn about the adversities faced by mines and offer necessary support and help to mining companies. Highly appreciation has been given to the positive contribution on NFCA’s fulfilling corporate social responsibility and benefiting local society. He stressed that investors’ interests should be respected and protected and only ever increasing investment can promote Zambian economic and employment growth. He also said that Zambian government would listen closely and resolve the problems and difficulties of NFCA, hoping to pay further attention to technology transfer and the training and education of Zambian employees for more local staff mastering all skills required by mining production.
After the conference, President Lungu and his delegation paid a field visit to the ongoing southeast mines and delivered speeches. According to his speech, all parties shall be adept in changing ideas and responding actively in the face of global financial crises to realize win-win cooperation. Capital and labor are two indispensable factors of corporation operation, which are as important as the two sides of a coin. So they need to support each other and maintain communication and exchanges. As explained by him, Zambian government will give strong support to the management level of the company for long-term cooperation, seek paths for solving problems actively and protect the benefits of all employees.
NFCA employees from China and Zambia also made a chorus on local Zambian song Tiyende Pamodzi, a symbol of unity and progress on the conference, leaving a profound impression on President Lungu and his delegation.
