On June 29, 2015 (Zambia time), Zhang Keli, the General Manager and Party Committee Secretary of China Nonferrous Metal Mining (Group) Co., Ltd. (“CNMC”)- the holding group of our company (“CNMCL”), and Tao Xinghu, the Deputy General Manager of CNMC and President of CNMCL who went to enterprises under CNMCL built in Zambia for investigation went to meet with Zambia’s Finance Minister Alexander Chikwanda.

Zhang Keli expressed thanks to Alexander Chikwanda for his consistent support and helps to investment and development of CNMC and CNMCL in Zambia, and introduced the conditions of enterprises under CNMCL in Zambia such as production, operation, investment and development. They had an in-depth exchange on such issues as Zambia’s current tax policy. Zhang Keli said CNMC and CNMCL are confident about investing in Zambia because of Zambian government’s care and support, and CNMC and CNMCL are facing dual pressure from international economic downturn and Zambia’s tax policy adjustment. He hoped that Zambian government can work hand in hand with CNMC to overcome difficulties, continue to strengthen support for enterprises under CNMCL in Zambia and help solve problems encountered during investment and development, to realize “China-Zambia cooperation and common development”.

Alexander Chikwanda said that CNMC and CNMCL have made obvious achievements in Zambia and made great contributions in such aspects as economy and employment of Zambia. He also gave a detailed introduction on such issues as Zambia’s tax policy which Zhang Keli is concerned about. He emphasized that Zambia’s sustainable economic development is inseparable from the development and expansion of overseas investors and that Zambian government would spare no effort to create stable and favorable environment for overseas investors. He said he would cooperate with relevant departments of Zambia in offering help within his ability for enterprises under CNMCL in Zambia to solve problems in such aspects as production, operation, construction and development.
