Zhang Keli，Secretary of CPC CNMC Committee Visited Enterprises Invested by CNMCL in the Democratic Republic of Congo

From July 25 to 26, 2014, Zhang Keli, Secretary of CPC Committee of China Nonferrous Metal Mining (Group) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “CNMC”), went to Likasi, Katanga Province of the Democratic Republic of Congo under the accompaniment of Tao Xinghu, CEO of CNMCL. They visited CNMC Huachin Metals Leach SPRL (hereinafter referred to as “Huaching Leach”), CNMC-Mabende Metal Leach SPRL (hereinafter referred to as “CNMC-Mabende”) invested by the affiliated company Sino-Metal Leach Zambia Ltd (hereinafter referred to as “SMLZ”) in Congo, and the office of SMLZ in Lubumbashi

In the office of CNMC in Lubumbashi, Secretary Zhang Keli inspected the facilities and working environment in the new office building. After listening to the report of Xie Kaishou, Vice President of CNMCL and General Manager of SMLZ about the production and management, construction of key projects, and geological exploration, Secretary Zhang Keli first conveyed the warm regards from Luo Tao, General Manager of CNMC and Chairman of the Board of CNMCL to all the leaders and employees in DRC, and spoke highly of the achievements of SMLZ in various tasks. He indicated that CNMCL had established two hydrometallurgical process plants in the DRC after 5 years of hard work, with an annual production of 30,000t in cathode copper, presenting a corporate image with mature technology, good equipment and advanced management. He urged the affiliated companies to seize their opportunities in DRC, where there is a rich high-quality copper resource, and give full play to their own advantages in technology, capital and management. He also encouraged these companies to actively explore new modes of cooperation so as to create new win-win situations while avoiding investment and business risks.

In Huaching Leach, the delegation led by Secretary Zhang Keli paid a visit to the production sites. After listening to the report on the production and management, safety and environmental protection, as well as geological conditions of the mine, Secretary Zhang Keli fully praised the achievements of Huaching Leach in various tasks. He pointed out that all the leaders and employees of Huaching Leach had united and cooperated to make rapid progress in the research of new projects in spite of such difficulties as limited time, multiple projects and heavy workload. He hoped that the leaders and employees of Huaching Leach would continue to work hard, stick to the focus, and improve efficiency so as to make more fruitful achievements. Secretary Zhang also conducted in-depth communication with the leadership of Huaching Leach on the new projects.

In CNMC-Mabende, the delegation led by Secretary Zhang Keli visited the production sites of power supply, grinding, agitation leaching, extraction of electrolysis system, tailings, and open pit mine of the Mabende project, as well as the office area and canteen, staff dormitory and other living facilities. Secretary Zhang Keli spoke highly of the achievements of CNMC-Mabende and put forward specific requirements for the next step of the company: to accelerate the construction of supporting projects such as landscaping of the Mabende project area of CNMC-Mabende, focus on the supply of production raw materials, and ensure that the quantity and quality of raw materials meet the production needs so as to lay a solid foundation for realizing the annual production targets.
