On June 26 local time, accompanied by Xie Kaishou, executive DCEO of CNMCL and president of Sino-Metals Leach Zambia Limited (SMLZ), Tao Xinghu, vice chairman and CEO of CNMCL, paid an official call on Oliver Kabila, first lady of Congo (DRC), at the presidential palace in Kinshasa.

First, CEO Tao Xinghu conveyed the cordial greetings from Luo Tao, chairman of the board of directors of CNMCL, and Zhang Keli, secretary of CNMC, to the first lady and her family. Then, he thanked the first lady for her great support to the development of CNMCL in Congo (DRC) over these years. He also introduced to the first lady the general conditions of CNMCL, especially its development in Zambia and Congo (DRC) and the production and development conditions of CNMC Huaxin Wet-process Smelter Co., Ltd. and CNMC Huaxin Mining Co., Ltd. CEO Tao Xinghu said that by adhering to the principle of seeking cooperation and win-win results, CNMCL has made great progress in Zambia. With the support from the government of Congo (DRC), it looks forward to bigger cooperation projects for promoting joint development of China and Congo and making greater contribution to boosting the economic development of the region and improving local people’s standard of living.

After listening to the introduction by CEO Tao Xinghu, the first lady highly praised the traditional friendship between China and Congo (DRC). She promised continual support to the investment and development of CNMCL in Congo (DRC). She hoped that CNMCL, by giving full play to its technical advantage in mining industry, increase its investment in Congo’s mining projects and make new and greater contribution to China-Congo friendship.
